NEW SUBSIDIES (OCT 2021 - MAY 2022)

Eligible Organizations:

  • Had a CRA Payroll account on March 15, 2020 or for rent subsidies, you had a business number with CRA on September 27, 2020

  • sole proprietor or corporations (similar to that of CEWS)

There are 3 programs during the October 24, 2021 - May 7, 2022 time period in which you may qualify as a business. If you qualify under any of these programs you may be eligible to receive a wage or rent subsidy.

1) Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program (THRP)


There are 2 methods in which you can qualify under this program:


Method 1 - Tourism, hospitality, arts, entertainment, and recreation sectors

Method 2 - Organizations affected by a qualifying public health restriction

If you qualify under this program, you may be able to receive a wage and/or rent subsidy


2) Hardest-Hit Business Recovery Program Wage subsidy (HHBRP)


This program, you may qualify for regardless of any sector. To qualify for the HHBRP, you must meet the following two conditions:

  • You have a 12-month average revenue drop from March 2020 to February 2021 of at least 50%

  • you have a claim period revenue drop of at least 50%

If you qualify under this program, you may be able to receive a wage and/or rent subsidy


3) Canada Recovery Hiring Program (CHRP)

  • you have a revenue decline of more than 10%

  • you have an increase in employee pay compared to the base period March 14 to April 10, 2021

If you qualify under this program, you may be able to receive a wage subsidy
